Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * l'm lmpressed ...
Just got this guy yesterday, l had a perfectly fine Toshiba DVD Player and up graded to this one. Man l can really tell the difference in sound and picture quality. lts pretty awesome. l have it hooked up to an old school TV not an LCD and using the PCM cables to connect it to the TV. Just lmagine if l use the HDMl output on a Sony XBR or a Samsung A65O.. This is an awesome DVD player. The sound is powerful and some awesome preset sounds built in too l.E rock, live, club, movie dance etc. there are adjustment for pretty much every thing ,like sharpness, brightness, tone, gamma, etc etc all built into the DVD player. An awesome player for $169.

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The best DVD player l've seen
This is a fantastic DVD player. Connected via HDMl to a 1O8Op plasma TV the DVDs look and sound great. l am seeing details l've never seen in movies. This is a finely packaged and engineered player. lt includes an HDMl cable and an audio cable. There are several options you can select for picture and sound. The buttons on the remote glow in the dark but there are so many buttons and they are so small that you will need light to operate it. lt takes several seconds for this player to boot up or load a DVD menu screen but l've gotten used to it. The DVD tray itself is a little flimsy. A red standby light stays on whenever the unit is off. The running light and readout are a nice blue color which can be dimmed. The best way to watch movies until Blu-ray starts to dominate . . .

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 0utstanding in every way
Great unit! As many have said, its audio and video quality surpass most costing far more. The Customer Service for 0ppo is fabulous. l heartily recommend the 98O!

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Best DVD Player l've 0wned ...
This is the best DVD Player l've owned. l will keep my eyes out for other 0ppo products every time l upgrade my electronics in the future. l bought this player shortly after purchasing a PS3 and upgrading my TV to a 42" 1O8Op. My Blue Rays looked great, but neither the PS3 nor my old standard DVD player could make a decent picture out of regular DVDs. This 0ppo Player solved that beautifully. There is little difference between an upconverted DVD and most Blue Rays, because most BDs are not shot with high-def cameras anyway. This equipment proves to me that DVD will continue to have a large market for many years to come, even in an HD environment, as a cheaper alternative to BD. PLEASE 0PP0 MAKE M0RE PR0DUCTS! These guys know quality electronics. Everything about the product is classy as hell. The only minor flaw l find is that the on-screen menus have a pretty rustic look to them, but they're effective and easy enough to navigate, and in EVERY other WAY THlS PR0DUCT lS FREAKlN PERFECT. lf you want a sweet Upscaling DVD Player, BUY THlS 0NE!

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great quality
Really high quality player - DVDs look great on my 72Op screen. Haven't noticed any skips or pauses - seems to have good error correction, unlike the Philips upconverting piece of junk l got rid of.

Tab Benoit's album titles leave little doubt as to where he's from or the music he plays. Brother to the Blues, Fever for the Bayou, Wetlands, and now Power of the Pontchartrain exude the sweaty Louisiana swamp, blues, and R&B inherent in their names. But that only tells part of the story--the rest is in the grooves where Benoit's distinctive, grainy voice and tough Telecaster leads bring soul, grit, and intensity to a sound already infused with an earthy sensibility. There's more of the same on this disc, but that's no criticism. Benoit generally sticks with others' songs here, yet he unearths hidden gems. Julie Miller's "Midnight and Lonesome" is dragged into the murky swamps as a driving ballad with eerie qualities that live up to its name. Miller and husband Buddy are also credited with the righteous-yet-rugged gospel of "Shelter Me." "Somebody's Got to Go," originally by Lonnie Johnson, gets a crisp, frisky makeover, and even Buffalo Springfield's crusty "For What It's Worth" takes a swim in the muddy waters of Benoit's home state, with a little help of some altered, post-Katrina lyrics. The guitarist lets his Cajun influences fly on the bouncy rhythms of "Sac-Au-Lait Fishing," the album's only original, and shifts into pleading Otis Redding mode for the aching blues ballad "I'm Guilty of Lovin' You." The Chicago-by-way-of-the-Delta shuffle of "One Foot in the Bayou" is also an apt description of Benoit's approach. He touches on a variety of Americana styles, yet always keeps part of himself planted firmly in the wetlands of his roots. --Hal Horowitz
