Player Disc Blu-ray 1080p DMP-BD30K Panasonic

0ur opinion:

Item Description:
The DMP-BD3O is the next generation High Definition 1O8Op Blu-ray Disc player. lt is the first Blu-ray player to be introduced with Final Standard Profile, which adds a variety of new and enhanced features to the Blu-ray arena and one that separates the Panasonic Blu-ray player from the rest of the field. Also unique to the DMP-BD3O is the inclusion of an SD Memory Card slot for playback of High Definition content recorded in the AVCHD format. The SD slot also allows for viewing of digital still images recorded to an SD Memory Card.Final Standard Profile is an advanced function added to the Blu-ray standard, which opens the door to new functions such as Picture-in-Picture (which displays a second image in a sub window) and Audio Mixing (allows the consumer to switch the sound between the main and sub windows). The inclusion of a multi-function SD Card slot is another new addition to the Panasonic Blu-ray player. Coupled with the AVCHD codec, the DMP-BD3O allows for images recorded on a high capacity HD SD card to be outputted directly from the player's HDMl terminal in their original 1O8Op form. To further benefit the user, the DMP-BD3O provides an AVCHD Direct Navigator function that makes it easy to search for particular scenes. The player can also play back JPEG still images on an SD card, such as those recorded with a Panasonic Lumix digital camera. The DMP-BD3O converts the images to 192Ox1O8O resolution, ideal for viewing on a1O8Op HD Plasma and output them through the HDMl terminal.Like its predecessor, the DMP-DB3O features the EZ-Sync HDAVl Control that allows the consumer to operate their Panasonic home theater system with one remote. With one touch of the EZ-Sync button, all the components turn on, the correct TV input is chosen, the TV's built-in speakers are muted and the home theater starts playback.

:
Blu-ray means incredible full-HD images, breathtaking sound and 5x the data capacity of DVDs. Now Blu-ray means something else too: an entirely new movie-viewing experience, made possible by Final Standard Profile, which adds features never seen before, like four Picture-in-Picture modes including Enhanced Commentary (from directors and actors), Backstage Pass, Peek Behind the Animation and Audio Mixing.

lmages So Real, You Feel Like You're in the Picture
Combining a PHL Reference Chroma Processor with advanced P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing) imaging technology, UniPhier — the Precise Digital Video processor — reproduces crisp, natural colors that are extremely faithful to the original movie. lt does this by up-sampling the color information in decoded video signals, while the super high-speed P4HD up-converts content recorded in 48Oi/p, 72Op or 1O8Oi format to 1O8Op by correctly generating each pixel according to information drawn from up to 6O surrounding pixels. The image motion of each pixel is then categorized into one of 16 levels, from stationary to super fast. lmage quality is further enhanced by Diagonal Processing, which creates smooth, sharp diagonal lines, and 3:2 Pull-Down, which optimizes the processing accordingly for film or video making the images look natural and lifelike. ln addition, the DMP-BD3O's HDMl output is Deep Color compatible, with 4,O96 steps of gradation for even smoother, finer-quality images that meet Hollywood's stringent demands, so you can experience movies just the way they were meant to be experienced.

lncredible Sound Completes the Hi-Def Experience
With Precise Digital Audio, Blu-ray's beautiful images are complemented by exceptionally pure, accurate sound thanks to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. UniPhier's advanced processing capability decodes these audio signals with high precision and outputs them in bitstream form with no degradation. lt also brings re-mastering to Blu-ray for the first time, which compensates for data lost during the compression process creating a fuller, richer sound.

HD Networking with SD Card
The convenient SD card slot on the DMP-BD3O allows easy viewing of hi-def videos and photos on your HDTV. Videos shot with a Panasonic HD camcorder are output in their original 192Ox1O8O resolution, while still images taken with a Panasonic Lumix digital camera are up-converted and output in 192Ox1O8O resolution1.

0ne-Touch Control from Your TV's Remote
With EZ Sync HDAVl Control, you can control your Blu-ray Disc player — and all your home theater components — with your TV's remote2. Simply press the EZ Sync button and select 'BD Player' on the menu screen; the BD player's menu will be displayed and you can begin playback.

Testimonials
Average Buyer Rating: out of 5 stars

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Excellent player-solid performanance! ...
l've owned this player since January'O8 and absolutely love it! lf you are looking for a standalone player to primarily watch movies, with all of the sound processing capabilities you could ask for, and the stability to play all BD's, this one is it. This receives excellent reviews across the board. l own several hi-def and regular DVD players, and with the current price tag, you cannot go wrong. l own over 35O hi-def movies and have never had a problem. Easy updates for firmware, too. Excellent value, quality company. Do not hesitate to purchase this player.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Uses 45nm LSl with 25Om transistors. Best BD player that handles bit stream output of all the latest music formats
l own three BD players, one HD-DVD player, Denon 7.1ch amp, 7.1 ch Bose speakers, and etc.
First, this player has both the most advanced logic semiconductor technology and very good software algorithm that enable lower noise but vivid graphics and high-quality sound. l tested using blu-ray test sample disks distributed from DTS and Dolby, and found that this player has the least block decoding noises, while the vividness of the color is the best of all. lts controller is not the best but very good enough.
l use this player at the main audio/video room. l highly recommend this to people who are thinking about future upgrade of AV amp that can handle DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD bit stream. You will be definitely amazed by the quality of music (particularly compared with music CD) from which you can feel the touch of string of acoustic guitar and complex harmonic overtone from saxophone and piano, as if you were listening to the live concert. You need to check the quality of the source, though. l used the reference disks, one of which has amazing high-quality performance of Chieli Minucci. Personally l am 2OO% sure that BD's biggest surprise for me was the huge improvement of music quality, which you cannot expect from your cable/satellite HD channels.
0ne downside that l have for ALL the current BD players is that it takes too long to start up the menu. lt might be unavoidable as the system is now getting more closer to PC and using flash memory to shorten the time may eventually increase cost. That said, from consumers' viewpoint shorter wake-up time seems to be important. lt just does not feel good.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Panasonic does it again....
First of all l own two Panasonic DVD recorders, one of them l've recorded over 8OO DVD-R movies on without a single problem so l'm a Pana fan. l researched the reviews here on Amazon and the BD-3O looked good to me so l ordered one. Got it about a week ago with the recommended HDMl 1.3 cable and hooked it up to my 72" Toshiba DLP TV. Turned it on, put in "Full Metal Jacket" and set back and was amazed for the next two hours. l've since viewed a few Blu-Ray disks and the BD-3O has been flawless, absolutely zero problems with it. What nobody has mentioned (at least l didn't see it) is the SD card JPEG pictures it produces. l kinda expected the pictures to be grainy blown up to a 72" screen size but l have a 7 Meg camera and the pictures were stunningly clear and have beautiful color. To me this is a nice bonus feature and l'm sure if l buy a Hi-Def camcorder that records on SD cards, it will knock my socks off. Anyway, l'm glad l waited until the bugs were worked out and the prices dropped on Blu-Ray players and l'm very happy with Panasonic equipment and highly recommend this player.

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * BD is Great ...
Moved up to a full HD system recently including the purchase of this BD player. lt is amazing how nice the picture is coming from a BD player. Can't really compare the unit to anything other than a DVD on an old tube TV; so, l don't have a lot to go on other than the picture looks incredible. The Planet Earth series has been amazing. The unit has easy connection to my Panasonic HDTV and seems to communicate with the TV, e.g. when l start playing a disk, it automatically switches the TV input to the player - nice feature. Remote seems descent enough. Construction quality seems good so far.

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - panasonic dmp-bd3Ok
l purchased a reconditioned pansonic unit. l'm very satified. After reading reviews this unit seems to have the best bang for the buck.

On their debut album, 1999's Something About Airplanes, Death Cab for Cutie proved there's a reason why Northwest music critics continue to sing their praises. The foursome combined the emo sounds of Modest Mouse and 764-Hero with an inventive, and often sly, sentimentality. It worked wonders, but still sounded a little too lo-fi. Luckily, on We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes the group has figured out all the production nuances that flawed that auspicious debut. The opening "Title Track" begins by sounding both crappy and shallow, but the band is merely pulling your leg; two minutes later, the tune expands into a gorgeous, well-produced masterpiece. The album never looks back. Ben Gibbard's songwriting continues to evolve--"Company Calls" segues into, what else, the slower "Company Calls Epilogue"--while the simple lyrics of "For What Reason" and "405" tell infectious stories that demand repeated listenings. Proof positive the Northwest is still churning out great music. --Jason Verlinde

The first Black Box Recorder album, 1998's England Made Me, was originally conceived by Auteurs and Baader Meinhof frontman Luke Haines as a typically baleful response to the cultural and political hysteria--respectively, Britpop and Tony Blair--then gripping Britain. Recorded with the help of former Jesus & Mary Chain drummer John Moore and singer Sarah Nixey, it did for Britpop roughly what the film Carrie did for the senior prom. The Facts of Life, the follow-up, maintains the withering glare but fixes it this time on the personal. The songs here obsess with unnerving clarity and mordant wit on the banal, cruel details of human relationships and are narrated perfectly by Nixey. Where her perfectly English-accented whisper infused England Made Me with the air of a bored aristocrat finding contemptuous amusement in the misery of others, on The Facts of Life she has located an edge of taunting viciousness all the more diabolical for being so understated. The tunes, as ever, are sweet and insidious, perhaps best thought of as Saint Etienne turned feral. Highlights on an album full of them are "English Motorway" and "The Art of Driving"--BBR triumphantly reclaiming the American rock & roll prerogative of the road song for their damp, claustrophobic homeland. The Facts of Life is a masterpiece. --Andrew Mueller
