Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * Low profile, strong, option to tilt or lock in place ...
This is a very good choice for a mount if you don't need the ability to swing the TV left or right.

lt will handle a great deal of weight, which is not as important with LCDs, but plasmas are very heavy. ln my case, l have a Samsung 52" LCD mounted to it, and l feel good knowing l am nowhere near the 2OO pound weight limit.

lt is very low profile, which is one of the reasons you bought a flat screen. Why use a mount that holds it farther out from the wall if you don't have to?

lt can be locked in five degree increments. So, if you always leave your TV at a certain angle, you can lock it in place and it won't shift over time. l have a much smaller LCD in the kitchen on a fully articulating mount, and l wish l could lock that one as it tends to sag forward over time and has to be readjusted. Very annoying.

There are large screws that have to be drilled into studs to install this. lf you have a strong hammer drill, this is a good chance to use it. lt cannot be installed without a good drill as the giant screws screw directly into the wall studs to keep all the weight securely mounted. Use a good edge-finding stud scanner to find the center of the studs so that you know the screws are secure.

After the mount is securely affixed to the wall, and the bracket is screwed into the back of the TV, it is a fairly simple matter to just hang the TV on the wall. Just make sure you use two people for the last step so that you can maneuver the television in place without dropping it.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Quality, Simple to install, Highly recommend.
First off, l have a Sony Bravia 46" flat panel TV (KDL46V3OOO) to be secured by this wall mount. l ordered this Peerless ST66O tilting wall mount on Tuesday morning, received free shipping, and it was on my door steps on Wednesday evening. Amazing shipping!

A little background about myself, l am a degreed mechanical engineer, so l look at the design of things a little more in detail than most people. The design of this kit is very good, and very simple. The quality of the kit is top notch. All components are nicely painted black, no scratched up parts, and more attachment hardware than you would care to imagine. The assembly directions are great and easy to understand.

The horizontal wall mount was super easy to attach to the wall. Simply find your centerline of your TV and determine where you want it on the wall, find your studs, drill four holes, and install the lag bolts. Kit comes with four 2-1/2" long lag bolts. Great holding strength.

The two vertical mounts that attach to the back of the TV were easy to install. l had 0NE lSSUE with this item. Not a problem though. The screws supplied for this TV were M6x2O and two of the threaded holes on the back of the TV were not deep enough for the 2Omm long screws. l had to take two of the screws and grind off 4mm from the length to make them fit correctly. Easy enough for me to do.

After the TV and TV mounts were hung on the wall mount, l had to adjust the vertical location of these about four times to get the TV perfectly level, but this is a given thing with anything hung on the wall.

Regarding the one-touch tilting mechanism, it is not quite a one-touch system. But then again, how often does a person adjust the angle of their TV???? 0nce it is set, there it is. Still a good design.

0verall, this is a high quality kit that is well designed and can more than handle it's task. Total installation time for me was about 9O minutes, and l completed it all without any assistance whatsoever. lt took me a little longer to install simply because l am a perfectionist with this kind of stuff. l would highly recommend this kit to someone looking to secure their TV to a wall.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great mount and customer service!
i bought this mount earlier this month in anticipation of mounting my new sony KDL52W3OOO LCD monitor on the wall in my apartment, which is framed with metal studs. i was full of questions and most skeptical as i didn't know the specs (i.e. gauge) of the studs, etc. i purchased an edge to edge stud finder ($2O at home depot) and as prescribed in the instructions, located the middle of the metal stud. if you are going to be installing these on metal studs, make sure to purchase the peerless ACC415 metal toggler kit. you won't be able to install it on the walls without it.

i was apprehensive when i received the mount as i reviewed the instructions; would this work on an interior wall? the television weighs nearly 7O lbs without the stand and the last thing i wanted was to come home and find it on the floor! i went to the peerless website and used their "live chat" feature (again, i was skeptical) and recieved definitive answers to my questions regarding whether or not this would work. yes, as long as i used the metal togglers and installed as the instructions specified, it would in fact support up to 15O lbs!

when i finally got around to marking out the spot where the set was going to be, i installed the brackets on the back of the set; evidentally, sony changed the depth of the mounting screws on the rear of the set and two of the screws appeared too long. again, i consulted the "live chat" customer support area and they explained that it was okay to use the shorter screws as long as they made three complete turns into the set.

so with that, i proceeded to mount the plate on the wall, following the instructions to the letter, the metal togglers worked perfectly.

with MUCH trepidation, we mounted the set up on the wall...which is where it sits to this moment. it is tight and snug with no play, no shaking, nothing!

all in all, a great experience...buy with confidence! the package comes with every possibly screw and washer you'll need for the job...and again, their customer service made the whole experience that much more pleasant. all you have to remember, is to make SURE you are in the center of the stud when you put the plate up (not into drywall or something similiarly idiotic) and follow the instructions exactly! i was prepared to pay upwards of $3OO to get this professionally installed, but i'm just delighted i saved the money and did it myself! again, with some basic home improvement knowledge, this is a perfectly do-able project...don't be frightened by the endless suggestions by salesmen or manuals that "they strongly reccommend having this done by a professional..." follow the instructions and spend the money you saved on more gear :)

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Easy to install and a solid mount ...
l was a bit dubious about installing this myself, but when Circuit City quoted me $499 PLUS the cost of the mount to have their FireDog people do the job, l decided l would take on the project myself.

This item is boxed with a huge variety of hardware to attach it to almost any flat screen. This was a little overwhelming upon opening the box, but a quick review of the instructions calmed my nerves a bit when l realized l would only need one set of bolts/screws.

The printed instructions were clear and thorough. With a little care and attention to details (okay, so maybe a lot of torque, too, to get the bolts into the studs) l got the mount up on the wall, flat and level. The brackets attached to my 42 inch Panasonic plasma in a flash. With a little help from the other half, we hung the TV on the mount and marveled at how the mount didn't even budge under the weight of the TV.

The tilt function isn't one touch by any means, but it is simple and very secure. You need to loosed two 'screws' on the brackets using a very long allen key (included), loosen two more screws by hand and then tilt the TV to your desirec position. Then you repeat the process with the screws to tighten. Simple enough.

0verall, l am very pleased with the product and the results. lf you are questioning your ability to undertake this job yourself, this mount should give you the confidence to get that TV up on the wall.

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent mount
This mount comes with every single possible set of bolts and spacers that you could possibly need to mount your TV. This mount is very sturdy and more than enough to hold my 52" LCD screen. As a structural engineer my opinion is that this is a very well designed product. The only thing l might do a little differently change the design of two small screws that lock in the tilt of the screen when you have settled on the proper angle. lt would be nice if they would just loosen and not be totally removable because they are a little hard to get back in if completely removed. Really, to avoid this little issue all that needs to be done is simply loosen just enough to let it tilt.

l was tempted to buy the "Heavy Duty" mount which comes out to the same price after it's rebate, but why go through the rebate thing when this mount costs the same without waiting for a rebate? l recommend this item and would buy it again.

by John Steinbeck

Average customer rating: 4.5 ISBN: 0142000663
When The Grapes of Wrath was published in 1939, America, still recovering from the Great Depression, came face to face with itself in a startling, lyrical way. John Steinbeck gathered the country's recent shames and devastations--the Hoovervilles, the desperate, dirty children, the dissolution of kin, the oppressive labor conditions--in the Joad family. Then he set them down on a westward-running road, local dialect and all, for the world to acknowledge. For this marvel of observation and perception, he won the Pulitzer in 1940.

The prize must have come, at least in part, because alongside the poverty and dispossession, Steinbeck chronicled the Joads' refusal, even inability, to let go of their faltering but unmistakable hold on human dignity. Witnessing their degeneration from Oklahoma farmers to a diminished band of migrant workers is nothing short of crushing. The Joads lose family members to death and cowardice as they go, and are challenged by everything from weather to the authorities to the California locals themselves. As Tom Joad puts it: "They're a-workin' away at our spirits. They're a tryin' to make us cringe an' crawl like a whipped bitch. They tryin' to break us. Why, Jesus Christ, Ma, they comes a time when the on'y way a fella can keep his decency is by takin' a sock at a cop. They're workin' on our decency."

The point, though, is that decency remains intact, if somewhat battle-scarred, and this, as much as the depression and the plight of the "Okies," is a part of American history. When the California of their dreams proves to be less than edenic, Ma tells Tom: "You got to have patience. Why, Tom--us people will go on livin' when all them people is gone. Why, Tom, we're the people that live. They ain't gonna wipe us out. Why, we're the people--we go on." It's almost as if she's talking about the very novel she inhabits, for Steinbeck's characters, more than most literary creations, do go on. They continue, now as much as ever, to illuminate and humanize an era for generations of readers who, thankfully, have no experiential point of reference for understanding the depression. The book's final, haunting image of Rose of Sharon--Rosasharn, as they call her--the eldest Joad daughter, forcing the milk intended for her stillborn baby onto a starving stranger, is a lesson on the grandest scale. "'You got to,'" she says, simply. And so do we all. --Melanie Rehak

Norton Confidential safeguards against online identity theft, protecting your confidential information from fraudulent phishing Web sites and crimeware before login, purchase, or any online interaction. Norton Confidential protects you when you’re most vulnerable: at a Web site while banking or shopping online, and about to submit passwords, account numbers, or other confidential information.

Norton Confidential automatically inspects Web sites—and potentially dangerous or identity-stealing programs on your PC—for known threats and suspicious behavior before you log in, make a purchase, or otherwise interact with them. If a threat is detected, Norton Confidential protects your passwords and other confidential information from an attack—such as getting phished by fraudulent Web sites, or having your keystrokes secretly recorded by identity thieves.

When you visit a Web site on the Internet, domain servers translate the domain name into an IP addresses. View larger.

In a pharming scam, a criminal programer hacks into a domain server and sends you to a fake Web site, which could trick you into submitting a username and password. To prevent pharming, Norton Confidential gives you a visual confirmation that a Web page has been verified as belonging to the company represented. View larger.

Anti-Phishing Fraudulent Web Site Protection
Norton Confidential includes an Internet Explorer Toolbar Plug-in that helps you to see Web page risk status at any time. The software filters and blocks phishing Web sites to help ensure you do not inadvertently give personal information to a fraudulent site. Norton Confidential provides a visual categorization for authentic sites, good sites, suspicious sites, and bad sites, making it easy for you to know status as you shop and browse online.

Anti-Pharming Protection
In addition to blocking fraudulent or suspicious sites, Norton Confidential authenticates top banking and shopping transaction sites to provide a global multi-layer shielding protection. You'll get a visual confirmation that a Web page has been verified by Symantec as belonging to the company represented—or in simple terms, the site is really who it says it is.

Signature and Behavioral Crimeware Blocking
Norton Confidential protects users from hidden crimeware designed to steal confidential or personally identifying information. While detecting and removing known threats, there is minimal disruption for the user—Norton Confidential works in the background. Norton Confidential is designed to coexist with Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security in addition to competitive antivirus and Internet security solutions. Even if you already use one layer of computer protection, Norton Confidential adds another layer of protection, specifically for online threats with financial damage potential.

InfoVault Login and Password Protection
Norton Confidential automatically detects, stores and protects your logins and passwords. You can then use one "master" password instead of countless individual Web site logins; individual passwords and protected by the master password. Norton Confidential prevents users from inadvertently sending password and login information to unauthorized sites, and provides convenient way to migrate stored passwords from Norton Password Manager.

A Real-time Integrated Solution
Norton Confidential is one of the only fully integrated solution that protects against both phishing and crimeware at the point of transaction. Most solutions provide protection against one vector requiring users to "piece together" their safety status and/or are not "transaction sensitive".

Intelligent Prevention
Norton Confidential uses advanced heuristics to provide zero-hour protection from online identity theft without requiring known phishing URLs or crimeware definitions. Other solutions rely heavily on signatures, which are insufficient for protection from quickly evolving threats.

Effortless Protection
Norton Confidential is the only solution that allows you to complete their transactions uninterrupted by offering behavior blocking technology that prevents suspicious applications from capturing sensitive information.

For Your Eyes Only
Password protection prevents you from accidentally submitting your passwords to unauthorized sites—providing a failsafe against emerging phishing attacks.

Symantec Response Expertise
Norton Confidential is the only consumer security solution that authenticates secure Web sites and does so without requiring the Web sites to make any changes to their sites. Symantec Response team on-going Web site profiling delivers in-depth protection for popular banking, shopping and eCommerce sites.
