Mini 3x8 Multiswitch

Mini 3x8 Multiswitch

»rank: 15936

from: Pico Macom

0ur opinion: :These multi-switches are designed to combine two LNB inputs with one off-air antenna (or CATV) signal, then distribute to up to eight receivers. They allow each receiver to view vertical or horizontal channels as well as off-air or CATV channels. LNB polarities are switched by 14V/18V from satellite receivers, through coax cable. Built-in lF amplification circuit compensates for insertion loss. All ports are 5OOmA DC passive (except antenna port). Will also work for C and KU band satellites. Switches available in two or four ...

In-Line Amplifier 900-2300 MHz

In-Line Amplifier 900-2300 MHz

»rank: 15936

from: Pico Macom

0ur opinion: :ln-line low noise amplifier is used when there is a long cable run between the DSS dish and receiver. Die cast weatherproof housing with female 'F' connectors for outdoor use and EMl shielding. The amplifier operates in the frequency range of 95O-2O5O MHz and has sloped gain to offset the tilt occurring in longer satellite runs over 1OO ft. N0TE: ln-line amplifiers were designed to compensate for line loss due to long cable runs. They will not increase your satellite signal strength.

Multiswitch 3-In 4-Out

Multiswitch 3-In 4-Out

»rank: 13405

from: Pico Macom

0ur opinion: :This switch will combine signals from a dual LNB and one VHF/UHF off-air antenna onto one cable and then switched to 4 different receivers. Allows all receivers to view different channels at the same time. Amplifies the satellite signal as well as the off-air signal to compensate for insertion loss. Comes with a 24VDC power supply which can be used in longer cable runs to power the switch and supply the 14/18VDC for the LNB.

Dual LNB Power Inserter

Dual LNB Power Inserter

»rank: 11751

from: Pico Macom

0ur opinion: :This power inserter is designed to supply constant DC voltage to C/Ku or DSS Satellite LNB's, microwave down-converters and in-line amplifiers. When using longer cable runs voltages will drop on the cable, mutiswitch and the LNB causing them to not function properly. The power inserter extends the range of cable runs by providing power for both polarities of the LNB's. San Francisco filmmaker Ernie Fosselius made the most successful short film of all time in the 1978 Hardware Wars, an inspired, mock-trailer for a nonexistent, cheapo rip-off of Star Wars. It worked like this: instead of Chewbacca, Fosselius offers the Cookie Monster. Instead of Darth Vader's breathy, slightly echoed voice emerging somehow behind that black-mask helmet, we get a villain whose every ranting utterance is so muffled even this film's Princess Leia equivalent beseeches him, "What? I don't understand you." And so on. Part of the joke is that George Lucas's revolutionary special effects are supplanted by common kitchen gizmos--mixers, toasters--that serve as spaceships and weapons sources. The updated special edition contains 20 computer-generated "special defects" that don't--the distributor boasts--at all match Fosselius's earlier version. Um... right on? --Tom Keogh

It's Christmas in the tech noir slum of the post-apocalyptic future, and scrap-metal sculptor Stacey Travis gets a present she'll never forget. Scavenger boyfriend Dylan McDermott returns from the wastelands with the insectoid robot head of a killing machine. In no time it whirs to life and builds itself a gizmo-laden body out of handy appliances to continue its single-minded destruction of the human race, one warm body at a time. Director Richard Stanley, something of a scavenger himself, plunders everything from The Terminator, Blade Runner, and The Road Warriorto Short Circuit (the spidery construct resembles a demonic Number 5) for his violent flesh-vs.-metal survival thriller. Shot in sun-blasted orange and sweltering red, it's a triumph of style, set design, and grunge aesthetics over story, driven by a pounding techno score by Simon Boswell and punctuated by splattering gore. --Sean Axmaker
