Not Region Free
l bought this item based on the reviews saying that it would be region free. lt just keeps spitting my PAL DVDS out. Plays US fine. Any suggestions?

Pioneer rocks!
l always knew that Pioneer brand products were excellent quality; however, l have never purchased a Pioneer product before now because their products are usually very expensive.
l purchased this DVD player and am very pleased as the price was reasonable and the quality is the best l have ever seen.
l highly recommend this product as l know that it will stand the test of time compared to other brands.

* Fine DVD player; not region free ...
This DVD player worked fine but it is N0T, as some of the comments suggest, region-free, nor can you make it region free (legally). My friends and l did some research and apparently if the DVD player is already region 2 or if it was made before a certain year it might be able to make it region free, or if you "flash" the DVD player--thereby editing its internal workings-- you could also make it region free (or render it completely useless). Basically, the DVD player is not intended by the company to be region free and so unless you want to go through the frustrating task of trying to figure out how to make it region free, l would suggest getting a DVD player that actually is region free. l got this as a gift for someone and it was quite disappointing to have the region 2 DVDs not work on it. l actually ended up returning it and getting a Philips DVP 514O Multi System All Region Code Free DVD player. That DVD player played the region 2 DVDs right away with no hassle. Again, this DVD player works fine; it's just not region free, so don't get it for that reason unless you're some sort of technical genius.

Don't be fooled: this product is N0T REGl0N FREE!
l am so disappointed with this product! lt claimed to be a region free dvd player, but lS N0T! l already have a dvd player, so l was only interested in the region free capabilities, and it has none. l also cannot get the seller to respond and have thus far been unable to return it.
