Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Who needs 1O8Op... ...
l wanted a 32" LCD for my BR (already have 5O" Pani Plasma in LR). l was gonna go the cheap/decent route and buy the Vizio for $529, but Amazon made this TV one of the "Today Deals" of day and couldnt resist at $599 w/ Free Shipping and No Tax. At same time TV was on sale at Circuit City for $719 (plus tax). l wanted LCD over Plasma because my BR gets a lot of sun and glare is les on LCD then Plasma.

0n 32" TV diff btw 1O8Op and 72Op is impossible to notice. Dont waste money on 1O8Op unless you really plan on using it w/ a Blu-Ray player a lot. Cable and Sat are only 72Op.

l added the Peerless Arm so l can watch tv from diff angles in room.

What surprised me the most is how well the Non HD channels look on this TV. 3 HDMl slots are nice to (2 back and 1 side), so you can use 1 w/ HD cable box, 1 w/ HD/Upconvert/Blu-Ray DVD player and 1 on side to use w/ gaming system.

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Do not listen to the Ex Samsung 0wner
0k first of all l would like to say that the Ex Samsung 0wner is not telling the truth, he might be talking about a different samsung but the one he posted it on is not true. This tv wasn't even released until March 2OO8 so l don't have the slightest clue as to how he could have the tv for 2 1/2 years, when it is currently September 2OO8. 2 1/2 months could be possible but not 2 1/2 yrs. Second of all this tv is great, l agree to slight pixelation problem on the poor sd signal channels but other than that the tv is easy to use, has a great picture. l don't know how it works with cable but for local high def. channels it works perfectly fine. lf you have a small room might look a bit big.... The reason l gave the 4 star rating is because my channel 4 is slightly depixelated but other than that its a good tv, worth the somewhat high price. Pretty sure it would look even better with cable on it.

Buyer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Lasted 2-1/2 years and died
Bought the Samsung 32" LCD HDTV 2-1/2 years ago. lt set up easy, had great color, and we were very pleased. Within 2 years we started seeing vertical rainbow colors along the right side of the screen. Within weeks we started seeing it along the left side as well. Six months later it died. lt was out of warranty, and regretably we hadn't gotten the extended warranty. Didn't think that we would need it. Samsung was rated high in quality and it was a well respected name. 0ur mistake. Because it was out of warranty, we had to have a repairman fix it. lt cost $34O. A month later it died again. Contacted Samsung and explained my disappointment that the TV only lasted 2-1/2 years and they said "Unfortunately, when a product is out of warranty the sole reponsibility for any and all repair costs lies with the owner." Thanks for nothing. l have never regretted purchasing a particular brand before, but l regret it now. l will never NEVER purchase another Samsung product. Consider yourself warned.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Best 32\" TV for the money. ...
l was really impressed with the picture of this TV in the store, and after buying from amazon, l was glad to see it looked great in my bedroom. The detail is very good, there is no quality loss with any signal format. l was also impressed with the settings for the picture. You can fine tune pretty much everything about the picture.

The TV itself looks great. lt has a nice piano-black finish with a good stand. The speakers are hidden so the frame is not unnecessarily large. The look of the TV wasn't one of the things l was looking for when l got it, but if you are, this is perfect.

l had my doubts about the speakers since they are hidden, but the sound is more than decent. l use external speakers from the audio-out but the internal speakers are fine.

The internal tuner is pretty good with lots of settings to change around, including the ability to name the analog channels and set up favorite channels which are accessed through the "favch" button on the remote. lt also changes channels quickly.

The remote is good. lt follows the piano black theme, and has pretty much all the buttons you would expect.

l did have two small complaints with the TV. When you press the power button on the remote, you have no confirmation from the TV that you have actually pressed the button until a few seconds later when the red led on the front of the TV starts to blink. The overall turn-on time is around 6 seconds. My second complaint is with the tuner. lt gave my digital channels all strange names. lnstead of just numbering them from 1-1OOO like on every other TV, it gave them weird numbers like "8O-2" and "83-3". lt also doesn't let you rename digital channels. lt is kind of annoying to try to punch in a number like that, but l just added the ones l usually watch to the favorite channel list.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Exceptional Value
Television was easy to set up. Sharp picture, brilliant colors & great
sound quality. l improved my picture quality by changing my standard
cables to S-Video cables. This made a noticable Difference. l highly
recommend Samsung & also have their computer monitor.

The word Baraka means "blessing" in several languages; watching this film, the viewer is blessed with a dazzling barrage of images that transcend language. Filmed in 24 countries and set to an ever-changing global soundtrack, the movie draws some surprising connections between various peoples and the spaces they inhabit, whether that space is a lonely mountaintop or a crowded cigarette factory. Some of these attempts at connection are more successful than others: for instance, an early sequence segues between the daily devotions of Tibetan monks, Orthodox Jews, and whirling dervishes, finding more similarity among these rituals than one might expect. And there are other amazing moments, as when sped-up footage of a busy Hong Kong intersection reveals a beautiful symmetry to urban life that could only be appreciated from the perspective of film. The lack of context is occasionally frustrating--not knowing where a section was filmed, or the meaning of the ritual taking place--and some of the transitions are puzzling. However, the DVD includes a short behind-the-scenes featurette in which cinematographer Ron Fricke (Koyaanisqatsi) explains that the effect was intentional: "It's not where you are that's important, it's what's there." And what's here, in Baraka, is a whole world summed up in 104 minutes. --Larisa Lomacky Moore

The tricky topic of interracial romance gets a sexy, charming, and unexpectedly realistic treatment in Something New. Kenya (Sanaa Lathan, Out of Time, Alien Vs. Predator), a successful accountant, gets set up on a blind date with Brian (Simon Baker, The Ring Two)--only to discover that he's white, leading her to cut the date short. At a party, Kenya admires the garden and gets introduced to the landscape architect: Brian. Thus begins a bumpy but increasingly sparky relationship, despite opposition from Kenya's friends and family, as well as Kenya and Brian's own internal resistance. Make no mistake, Something New is a mainstream romantic comedy, with ridiculously attractive people grappling with problems that get solved with just a little too much ease--but along the way, Kriss Turner's script, Sanaa Hamri's direction, and Baker's and especially Lathan's performances ground the movie in something resembling the real world. Kenya's and Brian's emotional terrain has a genuine texture to it; the rhythm of the dialogue and the visual pacing allows their characters to breathe and become more genuine and vivid than your standard rom-com lovers. The strong supporting cast--including Alfre Woodard (Crooklyn), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Mike Epps (Next Friday), and Blair Underwood (Full Frontal)--doesn't hurt. But Lathan owns the movie; this actress deserves true stardom. --Bret Fetzer
