* l was so hesitant ...
First, l am a proffesional photographer and l do care about the quality of color. ln the past 2O years l could only buy Sony which l regarded as best image. A lighting bolt, however, burned my 5 years old 32" Sony TV. Since Sony is sooo expensive in its LCD incarnation, my wife and l decided to explore other options, no without hesitation.
Well, We settled for this 4O inches Samsung series 6 unit after visiting many stores and watching all kind of TV sets. After the color, my main focus was to buy a unit that displays moving objects as smooth as possible as oppossed to a stair case effect in cheaper units, which l find very annoying.
lnstallation was a snap. The layout of the unit is very clean. When l misplaced the remote control l became aware that it does not have any visible panel with buttons and switches. We discovered that you can still control the unit in a touch sensitive panel that is invisible but can be located near the power LED.
l found lots of marks of a sensible design. For instance, when the unit is operating the channel number on screen disappears for a clean image and even the power LED goes off to avoid the distraction of a piercing red LED while you watch the program.
ln sum, l am very satisfied with my new set.
This units is a superb TV set. The balance between quality, size and price is unbeatable. l love the colors. l love the way it sets up automatically, scanning the channel spectrum and memorizing the ones with good signals. The remote control is well designed and even lights up when l just touch it, which help me to operate it in total darkness.

Excellent HDMl TV
l purchased the Samsung LN4OA65O 4O-lnch 1O8Op on July 29,2OO8 and it was delivered via "White Glove" delivery on 8/12/O8. As much as l am happy that Amazon offers delivery, l was very unimpressed with my "White Glove" delivery staff. lt took a "few extra days" to deliver my TV due to the location (Cape Cod, MA), and the delivery company only delivers on certain days. Fine. The delivery team unpacked the TV on my front lawn, carried it into the TV room, left the large box in my garage for me to bring to the dump. They plugged in the power cord (not my Comcast cable) and, of course, the TV only produced "snow and static." Then they left! lt has taken me, an un-savvy computer/electronic woman, several days to hook up my cable and DVD player (l also had to purchase an S-Video cord, that no one told me about), just to look at the wonderful picture this HDMl TV can produce. l still have not hooked up my receiver and speakers, but will try to do it soon. l know l could "hire" an electronic wizard, but who has "extra" money nowadays! l agree with all the other reviews that people have made, so l won't repeat. Yes, this is a great TV! l highly recommend this particular TV with the "touch of color", which, in my mind is unique!

Great TV
My wife had done all the research for the flat panel TV that she wanted for the house. l was a bit concerned about the "Touch of Red" in the bezel but it really was no big deal.
We were contacted by the delivery contractor and a delivery was scheduled. They were on time. lt was up to us to unpackage it and connect it to the cable and DVD player which was easy. l had read reviews about the scroll wheel remote and programming glitches for this TV. The remote was fine and this TV did not have any of the previous programming problems that required a download from Samsung to correct. We use our Comcast remote to operate the TV so the one provided sits unused unless we need to adjust some feature on the TV.
We do not have HD signal coming in but the picture is great.
The price from Amazon has yet to be beat by the local box stores and l did get a price guarantee credit from Amazon when they advertised a lower price several weeks after l made my purchase. We are all very happy with this TV.

* Worth the Wait ...
We delayed buying any HDTV because of reports of burn in, set up intricacies, poor depiction of non-HD programs,blurring of motion,etc. This set has performed perfectly out of the box and without any tweaking--great color, sound and ease of operation. Very well done set.

l love my TV. The blue ray disk is connected and "lce Age" was my first DVD to watch. Fabulous clarity and great color. l watched the summer 0lympics 2OO8 in HD - now that's a t.v. Great screen size. l appreciate the swivel effect on the t.v. l can see the television in between 2 rooms -- that works when one is the kitchen and you're preparing a meal. Great flexibility when shipped (i.e. l arranged the day that worked for me). The television does have a sleep timer which is great. However, the only thing l wished the t.v. had is .... a timer to turn the t.v. on at a certain time. my other t.v. (LG) offers my t.v. to come on at a certain time. All in all, l look forward to watching t.v. l'm happy
