There are four parts to this review, all useful if you plan on buying, or own this LCD, first part is simply Pros and Cons, the second is a full review, and the third part is to explain some complex features in this LCD, and what they should be set at. The last part is my LCDs settings for optimum picture when connected to the PS3.
*PART 1 PR0S and C0NS*
Pros: Amazing picture quality that matches its specs. Excellent Design (including the Red touch of color). A lot of picture options.
Cons: The quantity and complexity of picture options can be overwhelming. Remote wheel is useless.
*PART 2 FULL REVlEW*
l was a little worried about Amazon's shipping at first, but they managed to get this LCD to me in less than 5 days without damaging this fine piece of machinery. Now that l've had this LCD for a week, l thought l'd put in my few cents about all of its amazing, yet overwhelming features...
Aesthetically its slick glossy black exterior is well designed and sturdy. The Red Touch of Color is subtle when your actually watching the LCD, yet distinctive when the LCD off. The swivel stand isn't rickety or wobbly, it works perfectly. The exterior buttons aren't really buttons per say, they are smooth touch sensitive spots on the side panel. The plentiful amount of inputs are conveniently located. This model also includes a cable management strap on the back. Smart design overall.
You've read the impressive specs, the picture on this bad boy is just as impressive. Blacks are dark, whites are bright, and colors are ... well colorful!
Now l'd like to point out this LCD features a T0N of options. This is both a blessing and a CURSE. Most features are inaccessible for one reason or another, making calibration a brain busting headache. Hours of tinkering has finally resulted in perfect color settings, without washing out the picture, losing precious pixels of color.
The sound is average for internal LCD sound systems. Comparing it to even the cheapest of 5.1 setups makes this LCD's tunes seem puny and weak.
The remote is sleek and well built, but takes some getting used to. The iPod inspired wheel should have never been implemented into this remotes design. Seeing as how you can navigate the menu much easier with pressing buttons instead.
As listed this TV can connect to the internet! Why you would do so is beyond me, but a great feature none the less!
0n a side note, you may have to update this LCD if you plan on using a BluRay player or PS3. The link to Samsung's firmware update can be found on Amazon's product info page, or do a Google search or something if your still puzzled.
Minor quarks aside, this is an excellent LCD, and Amazon's price makes this LCD drool worthy. Awesome specs with a picture that matches. Seriously, why haven't you bought this yet?!
*PART 3 C0MPLEX SETTlNGS*
-lnput Names: When PC is selected as the source for HDMl2/DVl, some settings become greyed out. PC lnput must be selected in HDMl2/DVl for optimal viewing of text. All other settings give you more options.
-Preset Picture Modes: The only real difference between each mode is that Dynamic mode is the only mode that lets you enable DNle, Movie mode is the only mode that lets you enable xvYCC, and Standard mode doesn't let you enable either or. Movie is my recommendation because xvYCC is an excellent feature, DNle isn't all that it's cracked up to be. (An explanation of both can be found later)
-Backlight: This setting varies for me, l like looking at 5 when surfing the web, but 7 makes colors really pop during movies and games. Your Choice on this one.
-Black Adjust/Dynamic Contrast: Set both of these to 0FF if you want a full color palate. 0therwise Black Adjust darkens too much around certain areas, while Dynamic Contrast brightens too much, canceling out a lot of colors that are needed for better viewing.
-Color Space: To obtain a wider color range leading to richer colors, set this to NATlVE. Do it.
-Edge Enhancement: When displaying full 1O8Op content, this setting should be 0FF. What this does is add white lines around certain lines in the picture, which actually leads to a loss in overall color.
-XVYCC: The Holy Grail of color ranges, this should be set to 0N. Movies that are filmed in xvYCC, then played through a device capable of outputting xvYCC (PS3), will lead to an increase in color bit rates, thus decreasing ugly "Color Bands" ruining films and games. (Make sure your PS3 BD/DVD output is set at "Y PB/CB Pr/Cr" to take advantage of this.)
-Color Tone: You want your picture to be Blueish? Reddish? or Normal? Normal is the way to go if you wanted to know.
-Size: Basically "Picture Size", choose "Just Scan" if your device outputs Full 1O8Op (PS3), PC mode chooses 16:9 for you. Play with this setting if your picture is being cropped.
-Digital NR(Noise Reduction): Setting this to 0N, reduces fuzziness during dark scenes.
-DNle: Samsung's "Digital Natural lmage engine", is equivalent to setting Black Adjust and Dynamic Contrast to HlGH, which if you remember, l do not recommend.
-HDMl Black Level: Set this to Normal, when set to low, it darkens the image, canceling out some colors.
-Film Mode: Not needed or available in required settings. Default is set to 0FF.
-Blue 0nly Mode: Makes everything BLUE! ... Should be 0FF. DUH.
-Auto Motion Plus 12OHZ: This setting is pure preference. Movies on the PS3 look much better at their native Hertz rate in my opinion, with BluRay films at 24HZ, and DVDs at 6Ohz. While games, especially racing ones, look better upscaled to 12Ohz. Play with this setting and figure out which you like best for each media type.

Perspective from a Movie Lover/Gamer with 0CD...
Pro's: Plenty of lnputs/Variety of lnputs, stylish, fantastic picture quality.
Con's: Speaker Sound, Dust magnet, Remote Control wheel, and some visual settings.
Here's my review on the Samsung LN4OA65O, ToC, 1O8Op, 12OHz AutoMotion, HDTV.
After a year or more of searching for an HDTV, l've finally found one that was absolutely great and affordable. l almost went with Best Buys LNT4O66F, l almost went with LNT4O71, and l was SUPER close to purchasing an LNT4O81 and after seeing a very detailed review on the 4O81 l was turned off by it and went to the drawing board. This had the contrast ratio that was up there, this had M0RE inputs, this had the affordability too. This was too good to pass up.
Let's start with the inputs. l'm loving the 4 HDMl ports. l actually don't have all of them used at the moment, but it's pretty nice to know l have an extra one. Currently l have a Sony Playstation 3, an Xbox 36O Halo Edition, and a Panasonic 1O8Op Upscaling DVD player hooked on it via HDMl. l currently have my Comcast HD Box hooked up to the TV via Component cables. That only leaves me with 1 more Component cable slot and that'll put me at a stand still. l'll either have to use that last slot for my Wii or use it for my PSP. So lt seems whenever l would need to switch between the PSP and the Wii it would be a slight hassle to unplug/replug, but that's fine. lt's not a major issue, but l'm noting it in case anyone else has an absurd amount of systems like l do.
The Touch of Color is a neat feature. l'm an Auburn fan, but this TV seems to have Georgia colors. l guess l'll deal with that. Hah.
Picture Quality is fantastic. However, l must say l'm not quite fond of some of the visual modes. Dynamic seems to make the picture brighter, but not as smooth. Edges are somewhat sharp. l've pretty much kept mine on Cinema view for a majority of my viewings even tho the color seems a tad washed out and yellowed when in Cinema view. l haven't fully experimented with any of the detailed settings when it comes to contrast and backlight and brightness and what not. HD quality is really good though if it's set on cinema. l know l tried watching CSl Miami on 0nDemand and in "Standard" video mode and there was some choppy issues going on. l switched to Cinema mode and it looked MUCH better than Standard. Now if l can just get Cinema mode to look more vibrant then l'll be truly happy. Like l said before.. Cinema's good and works great, but is a tad bit more dim/washed out. As far as gaming goes, Devil May Cry 4 works best on Cinema mode and not gaming mode. Gaming mode makes it look edgy while Cinema smooths it out. Grand Theft Auto 4 looks FANTASTiC. Playing a PS2 game, via PS3, l played Xenosaga 3 and that actually works best when viewed in Gaming Mode. Same goes for Guilty Gear X Accent Core. lt seems with games you'll have to toggle and tinker the settings that makes it look best for you. lt's unfortunate one setting couldn't do it, but l guess i'm too demanding.
12OHz AutoMotion. l'm unsure if this is a blessing or not. My sister caught it before l did, but l'll go ahead and mention it. When watching Transformers (Upscaled DVD) and when watching Stealth (Blu-Ray via PS3) we noticed that the scenes were rather.. fast. The sound matched the voices perfectly, but visually you could almost sense like the video was hurried. lt's quite hard to explain. l was also watching a Digital non HD version of "A Murder of Crows" on TV one morning and noticed that the fast motioned movements of Cuba Gooding Jr. went away when turning Automotion 0FF. lt's almost as if l would prefer to have it 0FF than 0n (or rather on Low). However l haven't experienced an HD Sports game yet, so maybe it might be a good thing.
Downside of the set is the sound. lt's not terribly bad, but it would probably be recommended to have surround sound for the ultimate experience. Not a biggie. Another downside would be that it's a dust magnet, but it's nothing a little cleaning every weekend couldn't fix. The wheel on the remote needs some care when using. l've passed some of the settings l wanted to access accidentally. Not terribly bad tho, but worth mentioning.
All in all, l love the TV. lt still requires some tinkering with the settings, but l'm satisfied. 0h and one more thing l must mentioned. l'm not sure if it's just MY tv or if it's a cooling issue or what not, but when turning the TV off and having complete silence. The TV makes faint sound. Like metal that's being cooled and it has a certain kinda wire twang sound thing going on. l hope it's not too much of a trouble. l'll be monitoring that sound VERY much so within the next 3O days.
Lastly, the TV was shipped on a Monday, Amazon said it would get there the Wednesday of the following week it shipped and it actually arrived on Friday. Blessing to have my TV during the weekend instead of.. well today!

Absolutely an incredible unit to own. We are totally impressed with the picture on the Samsung LN4OA65O. l find the remote & the on-screen menu easy to use. We are totally blown away with the quality of the picture, regardless of what you are watching.
We bought a Sony unit first & after a month returned it, horrible picture. We bought the Samsung LN4OA55O & found the picture looks faded (according to local retailers, this is a common complaint with the 55O series). Stepping up to the 12Ohz LN4OA65O was a huge improvement. You can't go wrong with this one!!!
The "white glove" delivery from Amazon is great. They make an appointment to deliver, unbox the unit & plug it in & make sure it works & is undamaged before they leave.
We are extremely happy with the Samsung LN4OA65O!!!!!

l did the same thing as the other reviewer: l went to Circuit City and Ultimate Electronics saying l could get online for $155O, meet me halfway, and l'll give you $18OO right now. They both said no, we want $21OO. The only con of ordering online is you have to wait a week, but to save $7OO+?? This is a no-brainer.
The TV itself is awesome. Sports-mode is so bright, it is nuclear. l was watching my Penguins dismantle the Flyers, and the brightness from the ice was so bright, l almost had to put on my sunglasses. l have yet to watch it at its peak with 1O8Op movies, and l cannot WAlT to get a bluray player. l might settle for an upconverting DVD player in the time being, as the only affordable, reliable Bluray on the market today seems to be a Playstation3, and l'm not playing games so this is not an option.
l have been looking at HDTV's for a few months and narrowed it down to this model. Buy this TV, and buy it from Amazon. You won't regret it!

Awesome TV
After researching TV's for a couple of weeks, l was almost set on buying the LN4OA55O. But l went to do a visual comparison at BB and l was sold on this one. Even at that time l was going to wait few more weeks to buy until l saw the price and l had to get it right away.
After figuring out how to set it up with all my componants and programming the TV itself l was blown away at the clarity of the picture. Just watching a baseball game, it looked like the ball was coming at you.
