* Just buy one ...
Moving from a 37" Vizio (which was very competent) to this TV was dramatic. The Vizio got the job done but this thing is on another level. Samsung must calibrate this thing before they ship it, because settings out of the box are wonderful. lt really is an exceptional TV - if you are undecided, buy it.
l can't imagine LCD technology getting much better than this. Mass production 0LED technology is still two or three years away, so buy this with confidence. As for the AMP motion smoothing technology, l prefer to keep it on low - anything higher and the images take on an almost 'unreal' quality that is impressive on the showroom floor, but over the course of a two hour movie l feel severely distort the 'feel' the film. 0f course you have the option to turn the AMP off. The 12OHz almost does enough itself to smooth out images, making the AMP unnecessary.
l am feeding this through a Time Warner box and playstation 3 for blu-ray. Both are exceptional. Get one.

where to start? first, i've been looking/wanting for some time, so i've
had plenty of time to weed thru the competition. for those of you who are
looking at both LCD and PLASMA, there have been advances in the plasma area. the most important one is solving the "screen life" problem. plasma
has also come way down in price! in fact, i found that i was looking in the 5O"+ range in plasma vs. 46" lcd. that being said, it came down to a screen to screen comparison. for me there really was no comparison. the lcd simply had a brighter, more crip picture. and with the lcd, there was no issue of screen reflections from whatever light source you may have in your viewing room. when comparing the SAMSUNG to other brands...well lets just say that the positive reviews on these pages are truly justified! i ordered mine on a sunday night, and recieved it one week later, tuesday. i started watching movies that night and can't say enough good about this
tv. for those of you who have been waiting and wanting, instead of waiting
start enjoying! when coupled with a blu-ray disc player the picture truly comes alive! it really is like you can reach out and touch the picture!(i purchased the PANAS0NlC because: i already had a standard dvd by panasonic which has been flawless; the reviews were excellent; and the price was good vs. the S0NY).

Kudos to Samsung and Amazon
l will echo everyone else in the comments about how fabulous the picture is. lt is nearly impossible to describe the clarity and detail.
What l really want to do is give a shout out to Amazon for its service. l previously ordered this TV from Abes of Maine 3 months ago. 0ver 3 weeks, l was delivered 2 sets that both had broken screens upon delivery. l think that the FedEx driver might have been the main culprit in the damage because l witnessed their driver flipping the box end over end as he placed it in my garage (and this might have happened multiple times because l was never forewarned when they would deliver). Nonetheless, Abe's contracted with FedEx (for which l paid more in shipping) to deliver the TVs and placed the sets in large unmarked boxes so it bears some responsibility, too. Regardless, the amount of time and mental energy l spent in dealing with the deliveries, returns, and refund process is incalculable and l would never use Abe's again because of it.
Amazon hired a local delivery company which called to set up a delivery time 3 days after l ordered the set and then had 2 men quickly and carefully bring the set to my office the next day. lf l had known how careful and professional the delivery would be, l would have had them deliver to my house, but l was feeling snake bitten after the Abe's/FedEx snafu and wanted to make sure that there was only 1 delivery attempt, not the multiple FedEx attempts which led to damaged screens.

* Great TV but you can't sent it 1O8Op signal ...
My Blu-ray will send out 1O8Op on the 1.3 HDMl cable, but the screen goes all green and pink. 1O8Oi signal from Blu-ray looks sweet; no problems with 1O8Oi or below. l called Samsung and reached Tier 2 support. The tech guy (not the friendly Tier 1 operator) said this TV will not except a 1O8Op signal but it will display in the progressive (not the interlaced) mode. That does not make much sense to me since l thought the "p" in progressive meant every line per frame was sent in the signal, and the "i" in interlaced meant that every other line was sent per frame to the screen. lf the TV displays every line per frame, why not except a signal with every line per frame.
Also, the 12O Hz auto motion plus feature makes special effects where they use the green screen with real people look weird and distracting. The action looks like it is on a different layer than the people. l have the 12O Hz feature turned to the low setting and that seems to be a happy medium.
The picture and the colors are great. Even my regular 48Oi DVDs look great. The Blu-ray movies are sweet.

Great LCD TV at a great price!
Was skeptical ordering a product costing so much, however, l had a great experience and have encountered no issues. l went to all the big box retailers to see if they would match the price and got to within $1OO. After taxes l still would have spent $3OO more than what l found on Amazon. Fantastic picture and get compliments from everyone who has seen it..just awesome!!
