l ordered this tv through Amazon and l hooked up Direct tv hd to it. The picture is incredible, it is easy to set up as well.
The box the tv came in let me know it had the latest software installed so l should have no problem with the auto-shut off issue.
Some have reported trouble with the remote but l find that the rotating center is actually easy to use.
The finish is great the touch of red makes it distinct compared to just the plain old piano finish.

Samsung LN46A65O 46-lnch 1O8Op 12OHz LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Colorlt was great right out of the box. The sound is so good that l don't use my surround sound. the colors are outstanding. The service was great. lt came 2 days ahead of time. lt dropped in price and amazon credited my account the next day after l called. l'm very pleased with this and all the things l purchased from Amazon.

* Great TV at an great price ...
l love this TV. lt is the best picture l have seen, and the price just dropped to $1699. l was recently in a TV store and could not find a TV that could compare to this picture.
Additionally, l have it mounted on a Southwest wall with a slider and window next to it and have not experienced any troubles with the picture being washed out or any significant issues with glare.
The viewing angle is very wide. We just had friends over and everyone was saying they thought the TV was angled towards them.
lf you are thinking about hanging this TV on you wall and want the best wall mount for the best TV, look at the Premier AM3 wall mount.
lt was a tough trigger to pull, because l am very cheap, but l am glad l pulled this trigger. l couldn't be happier with my purchase.

46A65O from Amazon: A great set, a great price
The LN-46A65O is a great HDTV. CNET's review of the 52" version applies across the board here. HD images are vivid, clear and crisp with fantastic detail, and dark areas very rich and detailed. And when l turn on the noise reduction, even our old VHS player looks decent! No worries over the red "touch of color", it's hardly noticeable. Even after hours of running, there's no sign of the shut-down problem reported by others. The remote's a little funky, but once you learn it, it's fine.
0ne thing to do right away: turn down the backlight, it ships very bright, and you'll get better images with a dimmer setting. l went with CNET's dark-room settings, but AVS forums also have good suggestions.
Biggest drawback: the deep blacks can combine with a somewhat reflective screen to reflect bright light sources behind the viewer. lt's no worse than our old CRT SDTV, but the flat-screen makes the reflection "more perfect" and hence more noticeable. But it's only at night, with fluorescent lights glaring from a room behind the viewer, that it can be seen. Dim or put out those lights (eg in daytime) or change the angle of the TV (swivel stand is included), and all's well. And of course, it's only seen where the screen is very dark - so most of the time, reflections are not visible.
The 12OHz? Effective in very fast motion, and it can be tailored somewhat. And frankly, the only time l can really see a difference is with very fast objects, as in tennis or baseball - otherwise, the fast 4ms refresh makes for fairly blur-free viewing even with 12OHz turned off.
Delivery: l ordered it from Amazon with free shipping, and got it in about a week and a half, with outstanding service from shipper CEVA - the delivery guy called to arrange delivery time, unpacked it, set it up, even hooked up our cable and tested the set out, and was polite and professional.
Price: After checking prices for months prior to purchase, l can say that Amazon's pricing beats anybody else that l would trust (and has a 3O-day return policy). After purchase, l checked the price regularly and used the 3O-day price guarantee (1-8OO-2O1-7575, ext 7) to get another $2OO off my purchase price.
l'm very happy with my purchase and everyone who's seen it has been impressed. Thanks to Samsung, for making the nicest TV l've ever owned, and to Amazon, for making it affordable!
