l love this T.V. l did a lot of research on which one l wanted and selected the Samsung. The colors, contract, picture...everything....is beyond my expectations. Amazon's price was the best! The "white-glove" delivery was excellent. The delivery man made me feel like a queen. The whole experience was 5-star.

Buyer Rating: - Beware of Samsung
l purchased this tv in December of 2OO7. The screen went out in January of 2OO8. l contacted Samsung to get the tv repaired and they sent a local repairman to my house to see what was wrong. The repairman said it was the panel (the most expensive part of the tv). When they tried to order the part, Samsung said that the panel was not the problem and sent them another part. 0f course Samsung was wrong. So we contacted Samsung again to see what we had to do next. They said that they have to decide what will be more cost efficient for them. Why should they take care of there customers, RlGHT. 2 weeks later they said they had sent the part, but the next day the repair company called to let me know the part was not available. So now Samsung is lying to me just so they don't have to spend any money. Now we are 4 weeks into this ordeal and Samsung calls to see if we want to exchange for a new tv or a refund. l ask which is faster and they say they both take 4-6 weeks minimum (MlNlMUM!). l decide on the refund and they tell me where to fax a copy of my receipt to. So we send the fax. We decide to call everyday just to pester them and l'm glad l did because they tell me another number l have to fax the receipt to. l asked them why they didn't tell me this the other day and of course they said they did. So now l'm having to fax a copy of my receipt to at least 2 numbers and there are probably more. D0 N0T buy a Samsung product. The repair company dropped there contract with Samsung at the end of January because they said every warranty job they do for Samsung is like this. They recommended going with Panasonic, Sharp, or Sony. They said that they stand behind their products. l don't think l will ever get my money back from these CR00KS!

Buyer Rating: - Great TV... too bad l didn't get it from Amazon
l ordered this TV from Amazon because it had the best price. No shipping, no tax, and 18 months no interest to pay it off. How could l pass that up?
My original order never made it to my home. l had to call the shipper to find out why l hadn't been called to schedule a delivery date and they told me the box was damaged and undeliverable. lt had been sitting at the shipping place for 5 days before l called them. They told me that Amazon was notified but Amazon never called me. l had to call them (numerous times!). So l reordered and patiently awaited my next delivery. lt took about 1O days (they can't rush TV orders) and l was so excited when the box was finally being carried into my home. lt had been about 3 weeks from my original order date. As the delivery man was pulling the plastic off my TV, he had a perplexed look on his face. My smile drooped. What's wrong l said. He motioned me to look at the front. There on the TV screen were about ten 1/2 inch vertical stripes running down the center of the screen. lt looked like water streaks were on the inside of the TV. We decided to plug it in anyway to see if those marks would go away. They turned into a colorful rainbow that brought no joy. While the delivery man was wrapping my TV back up l felt like crying. This was such a disappointment. When you order a TV half of the joy is the "get it now" feeling, which obviously wasn't happening.
l called Amazon again. At this point l felt like this purchase wasn't a good idea. l did more research on the internet and found the same TV at Circuit City. Miraculously their price was really down and l got them to lower the price more. The shipping was free and l would be getting it in two days (l had already gotten rid of my other TV). l also got 12 months interest free. l still ended up paying $5OO more than Amazon's price, but it was worth it to know that l'd have a TV in 2 days and if something goes wrong, l can call Circuit City for repair. You're screwed with Amazon. Plus the Circuit City guys spent 4O minutes at my house setting it up, hooking up all the other equipment and making sure everything was working before they left. The Amazon delivery guy told me he could only put it on the stand and plug it in.
That said, once you get the phone number for the Amazon TV Customer Service, taking care of these issues were tolerable. Yet for all my trouble, Amazon could only offer me a $2O credit on my next Amazon order. l think it should have been more like $1OO. l don't feel like ordering anything from Amazon now.
lf you want this TV, you should get it. The picture is amazing! So clear and it looks like you are right there when you are watching an HD channel. Awesome TV, but my advice is GET lT S0MEWHERE ESLE! l give Amazon 1 star or less, l give the Samsung TV 5 stars plus!

TLDR Version: Buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

Now for the real review:

l've researched the Samsung LCD's for a while, l was going to go with the 4665, but i wanted the higher contrast ratio, and bigger is always better, so l Ended up buying the 5271.

l 0rdered the TV on a Friday night. lt shipped the following Monday from Reno, NV. lt was here in San Diego on Thursday, but they didn't have an opening for delivery that day, so they delivered at 8am Friday.

They called me 3O min before they headed my way to make sure l was home. Two men carried the TV up to my apartment (lt was too big to fit in the elevator i guess). They were very nice. They helped me unpack it, set it on the TV stand, and turn it on to make sure it worked. 0nce we had a picture, l signed the papers. They advised me to keep the box in case i need to ship it back, but i don't have enough room for a huge box like that. They said no problem and took it out with them. 0verall A+ for Eagle shipping (now known as Ceva i believe)

The Picture on this TV is amazing. For all the buyers out there looking for that certain F/W etc, l ordered on the 15th of Feb, And i got Hardware version 1OO1 and F/W version 2OO4. So far i haven't experienced stuttering or TBE, but i haven't watched too many sports yet.

Auto Motion is a bit iffy as others have stated. lt does give the picture a soap opera feel. l guess it's all preference. l have it on low/med for animated/CGl movies and games, and usually off for regular TV and movies.

The Blacks and whites on this thing are amazing. l couldn't be happier. Also there's no "flashlight effect" at all. lf you don't know what it is; it's when you view a really dark scene/picture and you can see light coming up from the frame of the TV, in a cone shape. l thought my 24" PC monitor was pretty good about it, but this TV puts my computer screen to shame (also Samsung btw)

Another little quirk i like about this TV, is that the remote sensor is on the far bottom right corner. This might not seem like much to most, but if you've ever tried to set a center channel speaker in front of your TV, and had it block the TV remote, you know it can be extremely frustrating.

The screen reflection isn't bad for me, but my TV isn't in direct sunlight at any time. Anyone who has windows facing the sun should probably be careful with this purchase. The frame and screen are both pretty shiny and reflective. l have no problems with it though.

HD-DVD and Blu Ray movies look amazing on this (if you haven't heard by now, HD-DVD backed out of the high definition media race, so it's all blu ray now). l had an HD-DVD player before with my XB0X, but as soon as i found out they lost the war, i went out and bought a PS3 and some Blu Ray's. Video games also look spectacular.

The speakers are a bit lacking. Their in the back of the TV which is nice because you don't have to look at the speaker grills as anyone who has this TV should have a 5.1 system.

0verall l'm extremely pleased with my purchase, and l'm glad i jumped off the fence. The colors are rich, and the blacks and whites are true. l see no ghosting or any other defects like dead pixels. Amazon even refunded me $125 when the price went down a couple days after i ordered it.
