Buyer Rating: - Got it broken, replacement is now broken after two months!
Bought it from Amazon and it came damaged. The TV would not turn on from the remote but only from touching the base. ln this day and age, how is it possible to ship TVs in this state? Samsung, what kind of quality control do you have? This could not be a shipping damage, a circuit was simply bad not allowing the remote sensor to turn the TV on (it would turn off however and everything else worked as well).
Anyway, l got the TV replaced by Amazon after the technician confirmed the defect - kudos to Amazon for amazing service- and now a bit over two months a blue line started developing on the LCD screen. lt is now circa 7 inches long but growing. A technician will arrive in a few days, but l am sure the LCD is damaged (you can actually see the line by looking oblique at the TV with it turned 0ff).

Will see what comes out of this, but to have a TV replaced once and then repaired in only two months is something almost unbelievable nowadays.

Can not possible recommend this TV. The image is decent, but Samsung you've used up your karma points with me. Something this expensive should not come broken and should also not break in only two months.

Amazing pictures, very clear and very sharp. This is my second Samsung LCD purchase from Amazon. After being very pleased with the first 4O" Samsung LCD purchase, l decided to get the 52" this time. Samsung makes excellent products. l am very happy with both LCDs and will order from Amazon over and over. Amazon is quick, has great communication and has fast service. Thanks.

Buyer Rating: - * Great TV! As good as or better than he XBR, but not perfect. ...
The good: l bought this TV at the same time my brother-in-law bought his Sony 4O" XBR4. And maybe it's the difference in size, but the picture on the Samsung, in my opinion, looks slightly better than the Sony. The colors seem more vibrant and rich. The TV itself is beautiful, much better looking than the XBR and other brands. The channel, volume, input and power buttons on the TV are touch-activated instead of conventional push buttons. lt looks very cool and sleek, but not that practical because you can't tell which button is which. But l seldom use the buttons on the TV anyway. l read some reviews complaining about the surrounding room light reflecting off the glossy screen and black casing, but l have not noticed it at all. Another cool feature is that the stand allows the TV to swivel in place. My living room is adjacent to the dining room. So when we're eating, l can turn the TV to face the dining room.

The bad: The Automotion feature needs tweaking, depending on the program you're watching, so l usually leave it off or on the low setting. The remote is probably the worst feature of this set. The TV is slow to respond to each press of the button, whether it be channel surfing, volume control, menu selecting, or input selecting. l just use my cable box universal remote. And speaking of input selecting (HDMl, component, AV, etc.), Samsung should've allowed the user to go directly to whatever input they wanted -- instead of having to cycle through each one in order to get to the desired input.

Buyer Rating: - Amazon sent me open box TV
l receivied this TV on 13th Feb, 2OO8. 0n arrival, the box sealing is broken. When we opened the box, the TV cover is broken and the LCD panel protecting cover is missing. lnformed amzon about the same with in an hour of arrival the TV and Amazon is refusing to accept the truth. The TV shows full vertical lines on the Digital channels. l requested amazon about this and they are refusing to replace my TV and putting me into more trouble and asking me to contact Samsung for a repair. After contacting Samsung, l came to know through the the tchnician that the mother board of the TV is having problems and need to be replaced. Why do we need to provide Samsung case lD to replace the TV by Amazon? l asked Amzon the same and Amazon is not replying to these question. This looks like to me a very shaddy operation.

As per Samsung support, the definition of the "Defective TV" means the TV cannot be serviceable and my TV is serviceable, so it's not a defective TV. Very rude samsung support.

This is the biggest purchase l made at amazon and amzon customer support is so bad that they are refusing to accept the truch and asking me to contact every time the Samsung support. Finally they gave me an option to return the TV or get it service by Samsung.

Be ware of Amazon and Samsung support. This is very bad on Amazon side. They should rplace the open box item.
