TV LCD 15-Inch LC15SH6U Sharp

0ur opinion:

Item Description:
Sharp's LC-15SH6U provides a slim, versatile television solution. The LC-15SH6U uses Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT panel, which provides highbrightness, a high contrast ratio, low reflection glare protection and wide viewing angles. Featuring a distinctive side-speaker design, the LC-15SH6U is an EDTV Monitor for compatibility with progressive (48Op) DVD players.

:
A great addition to your bedroom or your home office, the affordable 15-inch Sharp LC15SH6U LCD TV is capable of displaying not only television signals in 48Op (48O-pixel progressive, with optional tuner), but also from video sources such as progressive-scan DVD players. This offers a far better resolution and picture than playing a DVD through an interlaced video screen from a standard CRT set. lt comes with a table top stand, and can also be mounted underneath a cabinet with the optional articulating wall-mount bracket. lt features an integrated 18O-channel NTSC tuner for standard definition broadcasts and a 4:3 aspect ratio screen.

This set features Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View (ASV) LCD panel technology, which uses an enhanced color filter that permits more light throughput. The screen also offers a low-reflection coating to reduce the effect of sunlight and interior lighting to provide vivid pictures wherever you install your LCD television. This set offers a very good brightness rating of 43O cd/m2 (candela per square meter), which provides a vivid picture even when placed near windows, doors, or other light sources. 0ther screen features include a 64O x 48O-pixel resolution, 17O-degree viewing angle, and a 5OO:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.)

lt has two integrated stereo speakers that produce 2 watts of total audio power (1 watt per channel). 0ther connection options include:

Tech Talk
Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Absolutely the BEST! ...
My wife and l were looking for a better 15 inch TV for our kitchen where we cook and eat on an extended counter. We looked at every 15 inch from every place that sold them and this one is absolutely the best. The picture quality (we have dish service) is perfect. And it has every picture and sound adjustment you'd ever want to get a perfect picture. And the full array of adjustments from amount of color and tint, to brightness and contrast, not to mention a button to change the brightness from bright daylight watching to dark evening watching really let you dial it it to exactly how you like your picture. But even better than the picture quality is the stereo sound. l often have trouble understanding what people are saying on all of our other TV's with including our 27 and 36 inch Sony. But with this one the voice quality is perfectly clear and understandable. The with stereo speakers on the side, you really get a rich full stereo sound for music and action scenes.

l highly recommend this TV for those looking for a kitchen or close to the bed or office TV. You just won't believe how really good a 15 inch TV can be till you own this one.

Buyer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Total Rip-0ff
Based on the product desciption from the Amazon website, i ordered what was supposed to be a NEW TV from this seller, but what i got almost a month after i placed the order was a REFURBlSHED unit with a defective screen. So far, Amazon has been of no help saying that since it's a third party seller, they aren't getting involved.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - good all the way around
We are very happy with this little tv. lt's in our kitchen, takes very little space on the countertop, is light so it's easy to pivot around depending on if we're sitting at the table or doing dishes, has good strong clear sound, and a bright picture that looks good from any angle. This is our first LCD tv so we can't really say it's better than others, but it's working very nicely for us.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Happily surprised at how good (and how inexpensive) this thing is. ...
We wanted a small, inexpensive, LCD TV for my home office and, after much research, chose this one. lt's as good as we'd hoped it would be -- possibly better. The sound and picture are just fine. Setup is logical, easy, and quick. We were happily surprised to find that it was possible to acquire exactly what we wanted at a price that seemed almost too good to be true. We may even buy a second one for the kitchen!

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great TV!
l read other reviews on this web site and decided to buy this television for my kitchen. lt replaced a larger TV, but the picture is so bright and clear, you don't care that it is smaller. The stereo speakers put out great sound, too. l would buy another one of these TVs in a heartbeat.

Superlatives abound when describing Krzysztof Kieslowski's The Decalogue, a series of 10 one-hour dramas originally made for Polish TV between 1988 and 1989 and seen throughout the world in film festivals and cinematheque and museum programs. Though each episode is inspired by one of the Ten Commandments of the Bible, these are not Sunday school fables illustrating some simplistic moral lesson--the connections to the individual commandments are not always obvious and are often downright curious--but powerful, profound stories of love and loss, faith and fear. Kieslowski explores ordinary people flailing through inner torments, hard decisions, and shattering revelations, grounding his stories in the faces of their deeply human characters.

Each episode is self-contained, from "Decalogue I" ("I Am the Lord Thy God"), the touching story of a boy who starts asking the hard questions of life from his rationalist father and religious aunt, to "Decalogue X" ("Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor's Goods"), a comic tale of estranged brothers who bond through a winding ordeal involving their father's priceless stamp collection. There are stories of tragedy and triumph, both expansive and intimate, some profoundly moving and others delicately shaded--but all are warmed by Kieslowski's sympathetic direction and his eye for resonant, fragile imagery. Initially drawn together by location--the series is set in a dreary Warsaw apartment complex--a web of associations forms as characters pass through other stories, sometimes only briefly, and themes reverberate through the series. The Decalogue is ultimately a personal spiritual investigation into the soul of man, a work of quiet attention and deep emotion marked by astounding images and vivid characters. Each volume is also available individually on VHS. --Sean Axmaker

On their debut album, 1999's Something About Airplanes, Death Cab for Cutie proved there's a reason why Northwest music critics continue to sing their praises. The foursome combined the emo sounds of Modest Mouse and 764-Hero with an inventive, and often sly, sentimentality. It worked wonders, but still sounded a little too lo-fi. Luckily, on We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes the group has figured out all the production nuances that flawed that auspicious debut. The opening "Title Track" begins by sounding both crappy and shallow, but the band is merely pulling your leg; two minutes later, the tune expands into a gorgeous, well-produced masterpiece. The album never looks back. Ben Gibbard's songwriting continues to evolve--"Company Calls" segues into, what else, the slower "Company Calls Epilogue"--while the simple lyrics of "For What Reason" and "405" tell infectious stories that demand repeated listenings. Proof positive the Northwest is still churning out great music. --Jason Verlinde

The first Black Box Recorder album, 1998's England Made Me, was originally conceived by Auteurs and Baader Meinhof frontman Luke Haines as a typically baleful response to the cultural and political hysteria--respectively, Britpop and Tony Blair--then gripping Britain. Recorded with the help of former Jesus & Mary Chain drummer John Moore and singer Sarah Nixey, it did for Britpop roughly what the film Carrie did for the senior prom. The Facts of Life, the follow-up, maintains the withering glare but fixes it this time on the personal. The songs here obsess with unnerving clarity and mordant wit on the banal, cruel details of human relationships and are narrated perfectly by Nixey. Where her perfectly English-accented whisper infused England Made Me with the air of a bored aristocrat finding contemptuous amusement in the misery of others, on The Facts of Life she has located an edge of taunting viciousness all the more diabolical for being so understated. The tunes, as ever, are sweet and insidious, perhaps best thought of as Saint Etienne turned feral. Highlights on an album full of them are "English Motorway" and "The Art of Driving"--BBR triumphantly reclaiming the American rock & roll prerogative of the road song for their damp, claustrophobic homeland. The Facts of Life is a masterpiece. --Andrew Mueller
