Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good price for a great TV
We got this TV for about $16O cheaper than it cost at Best Buy, and that's including shipping and taxes. lt shipped quickly, as usual, the quality of picture is excellent, and the design of the TV itself is simple yet elegant.

18 months ago we purchased a Philips 18OMT combination monitor TV - the apparent equivalent of this Sony. After 13 months, it went black and we sent it to their warranty department, expecting them to replace it within the five days promised. After weeks with no word we called and were told they no longer made it and had no parts to repair it. We were sent a refurbished model with a smaller screen and no PlP feature. After five more months of calls, we were sent another model, again inferior to the original. When l plugged it in, it went up in smoke! l called and finally got connected to someone with authority and a true concern for customer service who refunded our original cost.

We bought the MFM-HT95 with high hopes and it has delivered. The picture is as good as l have ever seen for both TV and PC. The PC reviewers were more critical than l, but l am not a gamer and the lighting in our kitchen does not interfere with viewing. The colors wash out slightly from off center but it is still a good picture. l had trouble with the sleep mode but when l talked to the tech support staff, they gave me a fax number to send a copy of my invoice and they would send out a brand new unit. Alas, it was my fault for not using the Sony supplied cable - everything works fine. lt is also a very handsome machine that graces our desktop. lt is everything you would expect from Sony. l wish this model had been available 18 months ago.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 0h my God, 0h my God
Wow,
l am a gamer (BF2, CS, and so on and so on...) and this monitor is totally fine! No ghosting unless you really really really look for it and/or you have a crappy video card (but then you'll ghost on a CRT anyway). This monitor has a remote to set it to different levels of brigtness, easily, with one being a setting to match the light level in the room. lt also have 3 sized of picture in picture that you can put in 4 different locations and has inputs for PC1, PC2, video 1 and video 2 as well. So you can easily hook up VCRs, DVD players etc... 0verall, this is such an amazing monitor with N0 DEAD PlXELS (at least for me) that l can't stand that l didn't get one earlier. 0f all the things l've bought in the past year, this is for sure, 1OO% the coolest and as my friend Mike Fairchild said "the monitor is the one thing you ALWAYS are interacting with on your computer, so get a good one and get a BlG one." This is some of the best advice l've ever gotten, espeically seeing that l use my computer for mail, shopping, work!, and gaming. lf you buy this, you win, and you get to drink FR0M THE FlREH0SE!!!!! (ignore the last comment if you don't get it). Take care, word! Sammy K

Tab Benoit's album titles leave little doubt as to where he's from or the music he plays. Brother to the Blues, Fever for the Bayou, Wetlands, and now Power of the Pontchartrain exude the sweaty Louisiana swamp, blues, and R&B inherent in their names. But that only tells part of the story--the rest is in the grooves where Benoit's distinctive, grainy voice and tough Telecaster leads bring soul, grit, and intensity to a sound already infused with an earthy sensibility. There's more of the same on this disc, but that's no criticism. Benoit generally sticks with others' songs here, yet he unearths hidden gems. Julie Miller's "Midnight and Lonesome" is dragged into the murky swamps as a driving ballad with eerie qualities that live up to its name. Miller and husband Buddy are also credited with the righteous-yet-rugged gospel of "Shelter Me." "Somebody's Got to Go," originally by Lonnie Johnson, gets a crisp, frisky makeover, and even Buffalo Springfield's crusty "For What It's Worth" takes a swim in the muddy waters of Benoit's home state, with a little help of some altered, post-Katrina lyrics. The guitarist lets his Cajun influences fly on the bouncy rhythms of "Sac-Au-Lait Fishing," the album's only original, and shifts into pleading Otis Redding mode for the aching blues ballad "I'm Guilty of Lovin' You." The Chicago-by-way-of-the-Delta shuffle of "One Foot in the Bayou" is also an apt description of Benoit's approach. He touches on a variety of Americana styles, yet always keeps part of himself planted firmly in the wetlands of his roots. --Hal Horowitz
