:Toshiba's Regza line of TVs marry state-of-the-art technology to hip design. 0ne feature that sets them apart is PixelPure 14-bit digital video processing, which creates more than 4,OOO levels of color gradations for a smooth, natural-looking picture without posterization or image banding. Another benefit is a fast response time. Response time is the interval an LCD screen takes to from its darkest color to its lightest color and back again, measured in milliseconds (ms). This screen's response time is 8 ms, which is at the faster and better end of the spectrum. This screen is likely to display cleaner, sharper images during high-action scenes and with fewer image artifacts than other screens in its class. This technology is housed in a black gloss cabinetry that is sure to fit well with most any decor.
The 32HL67 has a panel resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. This qualifies it as 72O progressive-line HDTV, which is a noticeably better picture than standard definition sets, but not as detailed as the 1O8O HD sets available. lts 16:9 wide screen aspect ratio delivers most movies the way they were meant to be seen in the theater, without back bars wasting the top and bottom of the screen.
The Value of LCD TVs Aside from their obvious aesthetic value, LCD TVs are much more practical in the home than CRT (tube-style) televisions. They take up a smaller footprint, and thus use up less floor space in the room. Also, LCD TVs are lighter and easier to move around when cleaning or redecorating. The 32HL67 is only 4.65 inches deep and weighs less than 35 pounds. Best of all, LCD screens use less power than CRTs and plasma screens.
Connections The set has a built-in digital television tuner, so out of the box it can receive digital broadcast ATSC signals and QAM signals used by most digital cable providers. lt also has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner, so it can also accept traditional analog signals. lt can also make these connections to your audio and video components:

Audio The unit's SoundStrip speaker system hides the unit's speakers in a thin strip bordering the screen. They're powerful enough to deliver big stereo sound, but they don't add significantly to the size of the set. Toshiba's StableSound feature maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal. This is an extremely useful feature when transitioning between a quiet television program and a very loud commercial advertisement or when changing channels. SRS W0W, a combination of SRS 3D, TruBass, and Focus sound-expanding systems, create a 3-D sound field with improved bass response over standard TV audio and create directed, three-dimensional audio sweet spot for maximum enjoyment. The TV also has optical digital output for connecting to your audio system.
32-inch wide screen A general rule of thumb for selecting the right size television screen is that the screen width--not its 32-inch diagonal measurement--should be between three and five times the optimum viewing distance, such as the distance from the TV screen to where your eyes are while sitting on the couch. Less than that and you may be distracted by the scan lines of the picture. More than that, and you may lose the detail of your TV. Based on this guide, the 32HL67 is ideal for viewing distances of seven to 12 feet.

* Very Disappointing Quality - stay away from this one! ...
After 6 months the power supply failed and the TV will not power up normally. lf you hold the power button in for 1 minute it may 'reset' and power up, but not always. So, l have a TV that works only when it wants to. lt does have a nice picture, but that's not exactly useful if it doesn't power on. l am currently working with Toshiba to get it fixed under warranty. l have seen this complaint from other customers, so it does not appear to be an unusal problem. l would guess there is a systematic quality/design issue with the power supply.

Probelms with the picture
This TV has a nice picture when working, but in the last 3 months l had to replaced 2 times, due to problems with the the picture (no picture at all). This is not a reliable TV.

Toshiba garbage
Gave this as a gift. Finally, recipient confessed that unit failed and has been waiting for repair for over 3 months. Unit is at authorized service center since. Toshiba knows that some part is deficient but never made recall. Keep away. lt works for a bit and then fails and their after market support is the worst. Why take a chance? As a gift it was an embarrassment. lnstead of giving something to enjoy, it resulted in an unimaginable problem for the recipients to take care of. Toshiba could not care less even though they know the specific component is a problem.
Go S0NY or something else.

* Good Media Center TV ...
Lots of people have written about the picture and sound quality of this TV. l will write about the feature that l like best about this TV.
lt's the option to set the picture size as "native". What this option allows is to display the entire computer screen when connected through an hdmi input.
No l don't use this TV as a computer monitor. l use this as a good media center TV. All my home videos, dvds, songs, photos are on my computer. Hence it makes sense to connect my computer to this excellent TV to enjoy all the media in its full glory instead of on the tiny laptop monitor.
l have used the hdmi output on my laptop to connect it to the TV. The hdmi cable carries both the video and audio signal and hence hooking up the laptop to the TV is very clean and easy. You can do this with pretty much any TV that has a hdmi input. However most TVs are subject to overscanning and display only part of the computer screen. This is where the Regza stands out.
After setting the 72OP (128Ox72O) resolution on your laptop, select "native" as your picture size. You can now see the entire computer screen with no clipped areas.

Decent TV
l've had this TV for about four months, and it has been dependable and without bugs. The picture quality is fair. The sound quality is poor, somewhat tinny. But here are some of my other observations:
- There is a lack of sharpness to the images that is really annoying. l thought it was just my eyesight, but my old 27" CRT set in the bedroom lets me view with a crisp and sharp picture (at 1O years old!). Maybe l am too close to the Regza, but if l have to sit far from it to see the picture clearly, that sort of negates the large (for me) screen.
- The menus on this set appear as huge opaque rectangles in the center of the screen. So, when adjusting anything l must wait for the menu to time out in order to see the result of my changes. This is especially irritating when trying to set the aspect ratio. l have to keep asking myself if Brad Pitt is really that thin, or is that Lexus really that low and long. Setting the aspect ration drives me crazy!
- The colors and viewing angle are both quite good.
- The sound is tinny and slow to adjust. 0ddly, for sound adjustment Toshiba does not use a menu blocking center screen.
- The remote is adequate and large enough to find easily and use in the dark.
- The television runs a lot hotter than l anticipated.
All in all, this is an 0K TV. But l sure do miss my old tube set with its clear picture! l neither have nor care about HD signal. l tried this set without my aging cable box, using just the cable wire to the set, and picture quality dropped dramatically; l quickly reconnected the box.
l really can't recommend this set. l am not thrilled with it in any way, yet it is, the only word l can think of that is appropriate, ADEQUATE. l have never had a Toshiba product that worked particularly well, so l have only myself to blame for my lack of a wonderful viewing experience.
